This blog is devoted to our friend Sam Hughes, the influential San Francisco anesthesiologist who died Jan. 20 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a year ago. Sam was a good friend, who had an immeasurable impact on all who knew him professionally. He will be missed immeasurably by all of us who knew him
